9/24 CVS Quickie: $0.34 for 3 Candy Bars.

I received my Voucher for a free candy or drink from CVS's Facebook page. It was expiring today so I quickly glanced at the ad before I ran out. Glad I did. There is a sale of Buy 2 Hershey's Air Delights Get One Free. I was able to use the Voucher and it took off the maximum of $2, in return, giving me 3 Candy bars for only $0.34 TOTAL!

9/23 Rite Aid Run

I live in SoCal, so I get the sales starting on Friday's, instead of Sunday. I do take advantage of it and plan accordingly. This week I took advantage of the sales for Colgate Optic Toothpaste, Crest Pro-Health Toothpaste, Irish Spring Body Wash, and the new G.U.M. PerioBalance Lozenges.

I started off with only $5 in +UP's. Usually I breakup items into smaller OOP (Out of Pocket), but I am now making them into less transactions, which is usually the same in the end OOP. First transaction I purchased:
4 Colgate Optic Toothpastes @$3.99/ea and used the $1.50MQ from 9/11 SS
2 Crest Pro-Health Clean Mint 4.2oz Toothpastes @$2.69/ea and used the $1MQ from the 8/28 PG
2 Irish Spring Body washes @$2.99/ea and used the $0.50MQ from their website.
All of which was $27.32 before taxes and Coupons.
My Rite Aid deducts all Coupons before taxes so after Coupons my total was $13.32
After taxes $14.35 OOP
Then I received back:
$5.38 for the Crest Toothpastes
$4 for the Irish Spring BW
$8 for the Colgate Toothpastes
$17.38 in +UP Rewards
I WAS PAID $3.05 TO TAKE THE ITEMS!
(I also finally tipped the $5+UP for the Colgate Promo in addition)

I then turned around and purchased the new G.U.M. PerioBalance Lozenges. $24.99
I used the $5Q from their website
then I used the $17.38 +UP's I just earned.
Paid $3.22 OOP
Then I received a $20 +UP!

My whole trip was only $17.57 OOP
I walked away with $25 +UP in hand.
I was paid $7.43 to take this trip.

Day 1 of my Blog

Hello to everyone. I am starting a blog for my couponing adventures. The reason I am starting my own blog is to help those Men who want to save money. For me, it is only me and my partner, and of course our Beagle, Akila. Just the two of us, we don't make much money, we have continuos high bills, and we have ruined our credit for a while. Like most of you reading this, I was first turned onto Couponing after watching the show "Extreme Couponing." I grew up in a household where we did use coupons, but it was never "extreme." Well after watching the show, I was hooked. But I didn't realize the time that was needed to put into it, and of course the toll it would also take on my relationships. In all reality, I fell for the hype of the show. After much investigation and shopping myself, I came to realize that there was now way that those people on that show got away with all of that without "breaking" the rules.

Anyways, my goal is to show you all how I shop for just the two of us, and how I am able to help others with the stockpile that I have been gaining.

I will be sharing what I buy for Men (from my perspective as a man myself), a dog, and sometimes things a man would never even use, but can be donated because it's free. What I have learned the hard way, is to realize your budget with first getting started, buy sunday papers EVERY Sunday (except when they won't have coupons), and make sure you have the space for your stockpile. I hope you will continue to read my blog as I gain more into my stockpile.
